Harry Bosco brings to Opnext a background rich in fiber optic technology and corporate leadership. He was group president of optical networking at Lucent Technologies and also served there as chief technical officer for consumer products, vice president of the wired technology and initial production center, president of the network systems broadband networking unit, chief operating officer for the optical networking group, and chief technical officer for the service provider networks. During his distinguished thirty-five year tenure, Mr. Bosco led the development of Lucent's core data networking architecture, helped to put together the company's broadband networking strategy, and deployed Lucent's optical networking product portfolio.
Gilles Bouchard
Chief Operating Officer
Mr. Bouchard is responsible for the strategic and operational leadership of Opnext's business units, sales and marketing, information technology, and fulfillment on a global basis. He has a broad business background and deep experience in product development, supply chain management, and manufacturing. Mr. Bouchard brings more than 17 years of experience with HP where he held various senior management roles. In his most recent role as executive vice president of Global Operations, Mr. Bouchard was responsible for HP's global business operations, which included a $50 billion supply chain, procurement and customer-facing operations such as hp.com, sales support, and direct and indirect fulfillment. In previous positions at HP, Mr. Bouchard acted in a dual role as Chief Information Officer and EVP of Operations and held several senior management positions in the company's computing and printing businesses. Prior to joining HP, he held various roles of increasing responsibility at IBM's research and storage divisions.
Michael Chan
Executive Vice President, Business Development and Product Portfolio Management
Mr. Chan is responsible for business development, marketing, strategy and product portfolio for Opnext, Inc. Prior to joining Opnext, Mr. Chan spent more than 18 years with Lucent Technologies, AT&T and Bell Laboratories, where he rose to be an officer at Lucent. Mr. Chan's last position at Lucent was as chief strategy officer for the Optical Networking Group in 2000. From 1999 to 2000, Mr. Chan was chairman and president, Lucent China. Other executive positions held by Mr. Chan include: VP in global marketing for the optical business; president and COO, Lucent China; VP for global SDH product management. During his career, Mr. Chan worked and lived outside the U.S. at various times in Japan, Hong Kong, the Netherlands, and China.
Larry Dooling
Chief Information Officer, VP Operations
Larry Dooling focuses on defining, developing and implementing operations and information systems for Opnext. Prior to joining Opnext, Larry held the position of vice president of information systems for Global Crossing, with responsibility for the development and implementation of all operating support systems. From 1992 to 1999, Mr. Dooling was president and CEO of Verbex Voice Systems, a privately held company that developed and marketed continuous speech recognition systems. Earlier in his career, Mr. Dooling was president and COO of AT&T's UNIX Systems Laboratories (USL). Mr. Dooling established USL as a separate subsidiary of AT&T, bringing together 600 people from multiple units in Bell Laboratories and AT&T. Mr. Dooling managed the sale of 20% of USL to a 10 major companies in the Information industry and initiated the final sale of USL to Novel. Mr. Dooling has held various executive level positions in AT&T in Product Managemant, Development, Marketing and Sales.
Atsushi (James) Horiuchi
Senior Vice President, Global Sales
Formerly vice president of North America sales, Mr. Horiuchi has been with Opnext since 2001 where he has been instrumental in building the successful North America sales division. Mr. Horiuchi has more than 23 years of a broad business background of sales, R&D, manufacturing, and senior management in both the Japan and U.S., including more than ten years of experience in the fiber optics industry. Prior to joining Opnext, Mr. Horiuchi was at Infineon Technologies and Hitachi Semiconductor America. Mr. Horiuchi was also General Manager of Construction Material division at a pre-fab housing company in Japan.
James Horiuchi received a MBA degree from Santa Clara University.
Tadayuki Kanno
Senior Vice President, Module & Device Business Units
Tadayuki Kanno has been working in the fiber optic transmission systems business since joining Hitachi, Ltd. in 1979. From 2000 - 2001 Mr. Kanno served as vice president of Hitachi Telecom (USA), Inc. in Atlanta, Georgia. In that role, he led fiber optic product development efforts for the US market. In 2001, Mr. Kanno was appointed as the senior vice president of the fiber optic transmission operation for Hitachi's Telecommunication Systems Division. In this capacity, he was responsible for business operation and system development. Currently, Mr. Kanno is leading the product realization activities for the Opnext Module and Device Business Units, which includes all R&D and manufacturing.
Robert J. Nobile
CFO & Senior Vice President, Finance
Robert Nobile has responsibility for all finance functions throughout Opnext. Previously, Mr. Nobile was a key executive in the 1998 establishment of Kodak Polychrome Graphics, a global market-leading graphic-arts joint venture between Eastman Kodak and Sun Chemical, a subsidiary of Dainippon Ink & Chemicals. Most recently, Mr. Nobile held the position of senior vice president of business integration, and before that was senior vice president and chief financial officer. In 1995, he joined Sun Chemical as its global director of internal audit. The following year he became chief financial officer of its Polychrome division. From 1982 to 1995, Mr. Nobile was employed by Arthur Andersen, where he provided financial advisory, operational consulting, and audit-related services to numerous international organizations.
Kei Oki
Executive Vice President Opnext , Inc. & President of Opnext Japan, Inc.
Kei Oki has worked to develop a global business with Hitachi's Information and Telecommunications sector since joining Hitachi in 1971.His career experience includes Hitachi America, Ltd., Hitachi Data Systems, Inc., Hitachi Telecom (USA), Inc. In previous positions, he contributed to developing Hitachi's North American business by leading the sales and marketing efforts of information and telecommunication systems, such as; fiber optic transmission equipment, Main Frames and RAID systems. Recently, he devoted his efforts to support Hitachi's international subsidiaries to expand Hitachi's IT equipment business. As the president of Opnext Japan, Mr. Oki continues to create value added solutions for the company's customers.
Tammy L. Wedemeyer
Vice President, Business Management
Tammy Wedemeyer oversees business operations for Opnext, where she has global responsibility in the areas of Human Resources, Facilities, Legal and Corporate Communications. Prior to joining Opnext, Ms. Wedemeyer spent over 10 years at Lucent Technologies in a variety of business management roles, most recently as senior operations manager of the Optical Networking Group and finance manager of the Business Communications Systems group. Earlier in her career, Ms. Wedemeyer held several business management positions at AT&T.
Richard Zoccolillo
Vice President, Pluggables & Subsystems Business Units
Rich Zoccolillo is the general manager for the Opnext Pluggables and Subsystem business units, with responsibility for coordinating all product development, manufacturing, management and sales activities. Formerly general manager for Lucent Metro WDM Business, Mr. Zoccolillo spearheaded Lucent's drive into the Metro WDM market. While at Lucent, Mr. Zoccolillo also served as director of product management for the Lucent SONET systems in the US, spending two years in Germany to focus on SDH systems, and held a variety of significant positions in Lucent's Consumer Product Organization. Prior to his Lucent tenure, Mr. Zoccolillo held positions at AT&T, within the ATM Network Planning committee, the international ATM Standards committee, and cellular system product development.
